Abstract
  • The project proposes a practical ministry to the Vietnamese refugees and immigrants in the United States. It addresses their profound problems in the context of their new socio-political situation. To define the problems, the author combines a multi-disciplinary understanding of the issues with his own personal refugee experience. He undertakes to assess a theology of the Vietnamese dan chung, with faith in Troi used as foundation for the resolution of issues. With careful examination of the problems and immediate needs of these refugees and immigrants, the project suggests a humanistic approach to ministry which includes realistic applications in major areas.
