  • This project develops a model of reconciliation which would facilitate healing and growth during and after the transition to majority rule in South Africa. Since very few helpful models or institutions are likely to be available, the church, through the local congregation, must be able to offer a viable ministry of reconciliation. This project focuses first on an analysis of the circumstances which presently are contributing to the pain and separation. Secondly, it attempts to build a practical theology where belief and practice are mutually independent. Finally it centers the ministry on reconciliation in the person and office of the minister and in the establishment of small groups which may witness to the reconciliation of Christ.
