Abstract
  • The task was to revitalize music ministry groups and establish new ones. Impediments were performance anxiety among potential volunteers, apathy, and inhospitality. The theological mandate was to enable involvement in ministry as an expression of worship and as joyful fulfillment of membership vows. Change theory model was soil preparation, planting and harvest. Change was accomplished through dialogue in a safe, hospitable environment. Interventions included theological interpretation of music in rehearsals, development of hospitality, recruiting, encouragement, and training of potential volunteers. The outcome was that more people became involved in music ministry and discipleship and spirituality were enhanced.
