Abstract
  • The study applies Christian spiritual guidance as the central organizing principle to interim ministry in the congregation of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, Minnesota, U.S.A. The thesis is that interim ministry can be carried out effectively using spiritual guidance, rather than management, as the central organizing principle. Methodology is to survey relevant literature, describe the social framework, explore family systems concepts of homeostasis, differentiation, and emotional triangles, form spirituality groups to explore spiritual guidance, and formulate conclusions. The study resulted in raised sense of sacred presence and congregational well being in spite of the anxieties associated with the interim time.
