Abstract
  • This project reports on the development of a program of stewardship education and commitment for the First United Methodist Church of Howe, Texas, which gave the members a fuller understanding of stewardship. The planning and conducting of the program was accomplished within a setting of resistance in a church which had not conducted a serious stewardship campaign in eighteen years. The project includes four stewardship workshops, four stewardship sermons, plans for a commitment Sunday, and a celebration. The project focused on the four United Methodist memberships vows of prayers, presence, gifts, and service as a way to develop faithful stewardship.
