Abstract
  • The research focused on introducing the four steps of Lectio Divina to evangelicals from a Wesleyan-Arminian perspective. The thesis argues that a Wesleyan hermeneutic is better suited for teaching those who tend toward postmodernity thinking than is reformed theology. Lectio Divina can address issues of people today who are spiritually searching. The project consisted of introducing Lectio Divina to Nazarene evangelicals with a Wesleyan hermeneutic that bridges the gap between evangelicalism and monasticism. The statistical analysis of the eight week course indicated that those who practiced Lectio Divina by praying through the Lord's prayer experienced encounters with God.
