This study is an attempt to help United Methodists understand the basic characteristics and doctrines of the United Methodist Church. Emphasis was placed on providing a strong scriptural basis for those beliefs. United Methodist pastors of local churches will find this study useful for new member or refresher courses. The materials were field tested twice in the local church with groups of sixteen and eleven persons respectively. Three types of evaluation forms were used to provide feedback prior to, during, and following the sessions.
