Abstract
  • The goal of this project is to discover an approach to evangelism which respects the theology and character of the Moravian Church and is acceptable in Moravian congregations. Using historical research, the author discovered the 'gentle persuasion' concept of Moravian evangelism from the eighteenth century. The author reported his findings in an evangelism guide for congregations called 'The Moravian Way of Evangelism.' The guide was field-tested in ten congregations. Results of the tests demonstrated that this approach to evangelism effected positive attitudinal changes in the respondents and was judged acceptable and useful in Moravian congregations.
