Abstract
  • This project proposes to renew Sunday worship of First United Methodist Church (Bentonville, Ark) through recovering the eucharist as a central event in church life. In a 13-session worship curriculum for four adult classes and a four-part sermon series focused on the action of Christ in the eucharist, the congregation moves gradually to weekly observance of the eucharist in two Sunday services, after 160 years of monthly observance. As a result, numerical and spiritual growth is dramatic.
