Abstract
  • This study seeks to highlight the efficacy of fasting as a means of grace and to promote its practice through providing Biblical understanding and practical research results focused on its benefits. Part of the analysis is based on a personal journal kept by the author over a period of 35 weeks. Other analysis is based upon data collected from 48 randomly chosen students at Bible Teachers Institute in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They were asked to complete a two-part survey on their practice and perception of fasting. An evaluation of the results indicates a positive benefit from those who practiced fasting.
