- Pastoral leaders cultivate resilience in ministry through disciplines practice of holistic, spiritual habits while embracing the essential, life-long nature of crisis and transition. Utilizing personal journals following her husband's suicide, research in leadership and spiritual formation, and interviews with other pastors, the author's conclusion invites pastors to understand and accept the necessary role of hardship in forming mature leadership. She encourages the intentional choosing of holistic, relational, spiritual habits so that one practices and develops the capacity to let go of what is gone, courageously engage each wilderness experience of uncertainly, and faithfully anticipate God's gifts of healing and transformation.
