  • The United Methodist Church functions within an itinerant system where clergy are appointed for one year. The trust or distrust between a pastor and the church often begins within the first six months of an appointment as they learn to dance with one another. Psalm 133, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 and Philippians 1:27-2:18 all give a clear message about the importance of trust that builds unity within a faith community. This project offers specific steps to faith communities on how to build trust when a new pastor arrives, so that effective mission and ministry can occur as they dance together.
