- The project's purpose was to gather, organize, and make available a manual of pertinent information for Protestant volunteers in the Protestant Chapel Program at the Michigan Veterans' Facility. Research was in libraries, seminars, workshops, continuing education, in-service training, and by observation and practice at various hospitals and medical centers. A handbook resulted which enriched the understanding of spiritual life and ministry in-process. Positive feedback, as well as constructive criticism, came from the participating volunteers. In broader applications, materials were used in new employee orientations, funerals, and with patients and family members of patients.
