Abstract
  • Mainline Protestant churches in America have experienced a decline in membership over the past two decades. Many losses are due to inadequate preparation and assimilation of new members. The study includes the historical, theological, connectional, sociological, and available ministries. In the assimilation there is an assessemnt of new members, an assimilation plan to be followed, and suggestions for continued care. The long-range goal of the model is better-equipped members. This model is designed to adequately prepare and incorporate new members for ministry.
