Abstracto

The purpose of this project was to equip selected deacons of Bethel Baptist Church in the assimilation process of new members. The project director researched the field of new member assimilation. The research proved helpful as an annotated bibliography was developed with the various resources in the field of new member assimilation. The resources provided information for the construction of a list of best practices utilized in new member assimilation. The project director developed lesson plans and instructed the selected deacons on the key issues of new member assimilation. The selected deacons identified needs for the assimilation of new members into Bethel Baptist Church. The project director enlisted a field mentor, professional educator, and practitioner for the evaluation of different aspects of the project. The project will be used for annual training with the selected deacons on the new member assimilation team.
