- Abstract
- The purpose of this project was to develop a holistic, people-centered system of Christian education for a local church, and to assist the church in the implementation of this system. A workshop was developed and conducted by Wade Robertson for the leadership team of the Friendship Baptist Fellowship of Pocola, Oklahoma. The six hours and fifteen minutes of the workshop covered the areas of: God's purpose for the world; biblical foundations for teamwork; a holisitic system of Christian education; ministry alignment; forming people-centered goals; and developing a total church strategy for making disciples. The project objectives were brought into focus through the teaching workshop lectures and learning activities. The participants filled out pre-/post-workshop questionnaires, designed to show change in understanding of the project concept and change in perspective. They also wrote an evaluation. An outside observer visited the workshop and gave an evaluation. The primary objective of the project was achieved through the team's voluntary forming of an age-group team. This indicated a level of understanding and a commitment to continuing disciple-making.
