Abstract
  • Lutheran schools have long been an integral past of the mission and ministry of congregations of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. In recent years, Lutheran schools have been faced with a variety of uncertainties and trends which highlight a crisis of identity and purpose, and call for a shift from the historic 'parochial' to a 'missional' paradigm. Missional leadership is a critical factor in developing a missional paradigm fro Lutheran schools. This project surveyed 30 missional urban Lutheran schools to identify best practices of pastors and school administrators functioning as a missionary team.
