Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop a guide for the congregation and future pastors of the Union Grove A.M.E. Zion Church on how they can work together in preserving the pastor's life so they will have many joyful days of ministering to the people within and outside the church. The author researched this matter through a combination of group meetings, questionnaires, and conversations with laity and clergypersons. The project ends with recommendations for Union Grove and future pastors on enhancing the pastor's health and the importance of the pastors accepting personal responsibility for maintaining their own healthy lifestyle. Although the project is focusing on the pastor and congregation of the Union Grove Church, the problem is extremely common throughout the body of Christ and can serve as a helpful tool to others.
