- Abstract
- A significant number of clergypersons in the Baltimore Annual Conference are experiencing difficult, unsatisfactory transitions as they change pastoral appointments when these transitions could be made healing and renewing through the use of available personnel and resources. The method of study was to utilize a questionnaire sent to all clergypersons under appointment in the Baltimore Annual Conference who had served a previous appointment, collate findings with literature on transitions, and do interviews and case studies. Approximately 20 per cent of clergy experienced difficult transitions with 35 per cent leaving unresolved issues, even though good resources are available to ease transitions.
