Abstract
  • The project tested the belief that an effective and enriching Methodist Partner Church Program can be developed through the preaching of a cross-cultural sermon, and that such ties between churches can and should be developed so that preachers and congregations may deepen their global ministries and perspectives. The thesis was tested and confirmed through the preaching and evaluating of three, identical sermons, each in a different cultural setting, and through the successful development of a partner church model designed to form ties between two, culturally distinct United Methodist congregations, and lay the foundation for future cross-cultural relationships.
