Abstract
  • This project was designed to develop a process that would encourage pastors to accept evaluation by their churches. Factors that discouraged pastors from being evaluated were discovered and addressed. The report outlines problems affecting pastoral evaluation and describes a process that allayed pastors' concerns about evaluation. Methodology included surveys, interviews, and the involvement of pastors, laypeople, and church administrators in developing an evaluation process and instruments. The project showed positive results as pastors in the Ohio Conference began to voluntarily request evaluation.
