Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to produce and test a condensed, practical leadership course for training primary church leaders of Asia in the use of Chronological Bible Storying as a strategy for evangelism and church planting among peoople groups who are predominantly oral learners, ignorant of the Gospel, and hostile to Christianity. The course, 'Storying for evangelism and church planting', is designed to be taught by the LEAD team of the International Mission Board in eleven countries of Asia where the predominant religions are Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. This project will produce a textbook to be included in the twenty-four subject LEAD seminar curriculum which gives basic leadership training to mostly untrained, recently converted and called pastors, evangelists, and church planters. The writer will teach the subject in selected seminar locations during the Fall 2002 semester in South Asia. Participants will implement the storying strategy in their fields of service and give an evaluation and detailed report at the Spring 2003 seminars.
