Abstract

Over the years, Celebration Church in New Orleans, Louisiana has consistently become more ethnically diverse. Because the church has multiple campuses in different areas of New Orleans, the demographic breakdown for each campus varies from that of the other campuses. The churchwide and campus specific pastors, worship leaders, and staff desire to meet the needs of the ethnicities represented in the congregations of each campus and would therefore welcome any guidance for planning multiethnic worship services. Utilizing the ministry research model outlined in the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Project in Ministry Handbook, I researched the worship service planning practices of 101 multiethnic churches across North America. In order to discover similar best practices that may be applicable at Celebration Church. Upon completion of the research, I developed a worship planning manual for multiethnic worship services at Celebration Church. The completed manual provides clear guidelines for the worship planning teams of Celebration Church and will hopefully promote meaningful multiethnic worship services for the congregations of the church for years to come.
