Abstract
  • The purpose of this dissertation is to identify and measure the influences and concerns affecting the decision making of missionary candidates of the boomer and buster generations. This has been done by surveying traditional (pre-boomer) missionaries and present-day boomers. Questionnaires were used to determine the differences and similarities between the identified influences and concerns that pre-boomer missionaries had and that present-day boomers have concerning missionary service. This research concludes that a number of different factors influence the response of missionary candidates of the boomer/buster generations and that pro-active avenues must be taken to attract them to missionary service.
