  • This project is an education program in christology for mainline church people. The project addresses two issues. The first is the lack of theological hermeneutics in most mainline Protestants. The second is a personal need within the author to rework his own understanding of christology. The education model utilized David Ausabel's 'advance organizer' model because of its techniques of imparting large blocks of new information, and Thomas Groome's 'shared praxis' approach because of its techniques of hooking the inner story of the participant into the story being taught. As evaluation, class members were tested for content, acceptance of controversial issues, and the adequacy of the education model. The results were mixed, but with a favorable enough response to the process to merit further uses.
