Abstract
  • When invited by the clergy, many laity are willing and able to do the necessary theological work for properly ordering worship. A team of laity and clergy studied worship together. They also surveyed their congregation regarding religious roots, beliefs and expectations about worship. The team encouraged congregational participation in and response to liturgical renewal. They wrote collects and examined, tested and edited liturgies of the United Church of Christ and other Reformed communions. The project resulted in the compilation of a local church book of worship.
