Abstract
  • With the mid-twentieth century Great Awakening as the historical context, Carl F. H. Henrys' life and thoughts serve as the focal point for an analysis of the relationship of 'revival' and 'renewal of the mind.' The relationship is examined biblically, theologically, and historically. The results are then applied to Henry's life and works for evidence regarding the hypothesis of its proxy that faith and reason are related. It is concluded that the biblical, theological, and historical dimensions of the relationship are coherent and consistent with Henry's life and works. Henry's contribution to the evangelical movement is best understood as redeeming souls and redeeming minds.
