Abstrakt

This study of Christian love (agape), develops a definition of agape as an 'I-Thou' relationship, identifies nine behavioral elements of such relationships, and examines possible approaches to teaching this behavior to adults. Affirming that relational behavior is learned and volitional, that teaching the behavior of agape is an essential goal in Christian education, and choosing a 'confluent' approach which blends the 'cognitive' and 'affective' dimensions of learning, an eight session course, 'It's About Love', is presented. Reading papers, exercise sheets, leader's guides, and the log and evaluation of a pilot group are included.
