- This thesis concentrates on four Sabbath themes: rest, based on Gen 1; liberation and equality, based on Ex 20 and Deut 5; worship, based on Ex 20; and prayer, based on the life of Jesus. The researcher uses a model of ministry to lead Lutheran leaders in rostered ministries through a twenty-five hour Sabbath retreat using ample free time, an intentionally home-like setting, a wide variety of practices, and methods of feedback to improve this model for future users. Commanded to take Sabbath time and willing to do so, leaders still are not consistent in their practice.
