This project developed an assessment questionnaire, care plan, and evaluation method to mobilize an interfaith volunteer network of caregivers for the elderly. Two groups of elderly persons participated in the study: one living independently in the community and the other receiving volunteer services of a coalition organization of faith communities. Needs identified were depression, fear, anxiety, loneliness, anger, guilt and lack of belief after death. Isolation and separation from faith communities were two issues of particular concern.
