- Abstract
- The overall goal of this project is to develop the ability of cell group leaders to foster koinonia (also referred to as 'fellowship' or 'community') within their cell groups. The project weaves together two major elements in order to reach this goal. The first involves the development and implementation of a retreat specifically designed for cell group leaders. The purpose of this multi-day retreat is to provide cell leaders with a cognitively richer and experientially broader foundation regarding koinonia. The second major element of the project involves an eight-week period of time, immediately following the retreat, in which retreat participants will apply what was learned and experienced on the retreat in the setting of their particular cell groups. Building on the foundation laid during the retreat, cell group leaders should be able to more effectively foster and encourage the development of community within their groups. This project will be evaluated with the purpose of further implementing an ongoing system of developing koinonia within the cell group ministry of Clearpoint Church.
