Abstract
  • This project focuses on ministry to alcoholic families, specifically on adult children of alcoholics. The church must take an active role in ministering to this growing population, and must offer support, encouragement, and meaning to alcoholic families. The study is a reflection on six years of ministry to adult children of alcoholics on a university campus. Included are the theological foundation, role of the church, description of the needs of adult children of alcoholics and the implications for ministry. There are suggestions for churches and pastors and a description of the methodology, which was based on listening and learning from adult children of alcoholics, helping them heal and discovering alternatives for the future.
