Abstract
  • The project assumes the central place of the holy eucharist, rite two of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer in Episcopal worship. It interprets the eucharist by using themes from third world theology and postulates that this worship form can be used to understand and motivate a ministry of social justice in a church. It compares and contrasts congregational attitudes toward worship and outreach ministries before and after a year-long program which includes a study series and parish missions. The project concludes with the establishment of a parish policy on social justice.
