Abstract
  • A welcoming life, a preaching and teaching immersion study, offered in United Methodist churches in and around Martinsburg, West Virginia, will prepare those churches to continue their support of the new Latino congregation specifically and to welcome the stranger in general. This thesis was tested with pre- and post-study surveys of A welcoming life participants. Results show that participants changed their beliefs about hospitality and God's desire for them to share their faith and their behavior regarding the frequency with which they share their faith and invite others to their churches. It also united the Latino community in unexpected ways.
