Abstract
  • The local church is like an island, isolated or one among many, hearing the calls for spiritual and physical help. The church must know itself, its mission, and how to accomplish its mission in the most effective way. Both staff and laity are better equipped for service with effective job descriptions. Materials on offices in the church were gathered, studied, and then a committee received input, compiled the results into job descriptions and obtained official board approval. The end product is that every appointed and elected leader has a clearly defined document outlining their duties and opportunities for Christian service.
