Abstract
  • This thesis is a congregational self assessment and planning program designed for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Oklahoma. It is a design which facilitates planning from the strengths of the church, utilizing the church's theology, traditions, and hopes for the future. It also incorporates Lyle E Schaller's concept of 'potentialities-based planning'. The report consists of a summary of the development of the project, its design, its hermeneutics, and the theology implicit in the program, particularly the theology of hope by Juergen Moltmann. The report also contains evaluations of the project by the author and persons who are conducting the program in their congregations.
