Abstract
  • This project proposes a system for learning how to preach in an extemporaneous mode. Extemporaneous preaching differs from fixed-text or impromptu preaching. A preacher first prepares a written text and then engages in a particular kind of oral rehearsal. A preacher does not freeze his or her language by reading or memorizing a manuscript. The project offers a simple and workable process to guide preachers who wish to move away from reading manuscripts and into an extemporaneous mode.
