- Abstract
- This project proposes to activate African American men in the life of Simpson United Methodist Church by forming a 'steward board' composed of 10 men selected for their commitment to God and winning souls to Jesus Christ and their proven ability to serve and lead by example. In seven training sessions these board members learn new ways to reach African American men, and their work results in 13 men joining the church, a 30 percent increase in male church attendance, and more men volunteering time and talents.
