Abstract
  • This project proposes that seminary courses in Christian worship must enable denominationally diverse students to integrate theory and practice so that they can make sound worship decisions in multi-denominational, ecumenical contexts. Drawing on research in communication theory, levels of learning, and convergence worship theory, the project designs and tests a nine-lesson study guide for persons serving congregations consisting of worshipers from diverse backgrounds. The study guide proves to be a significant teaching and learning aid that enables students to plan and lead theologically sound worship for diverse congregations.
