Abstract
  • This thesis-project asserts a direct relationship between the Eucharistic Liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church and a program of seminary spiritual formation. The method offered by James and Evelyn Whitehead in their book Method in ministry is employed for this project. Chapter One introduces and defines the terms liturgy and spiritual formation. Chapter Two explores current seminary practice at Sacred Heart School of Theology. Chapter Three presents theories of symbols and their meanings. Chapter Four describes conversion theories of various authors. Chapter Five places liturgy and spiritual formation into dialogue. Chapter Six presents ingredients for renewed praxis in a seminary formation program.
