- The Church of the Nazarene owns and operates fifty-seven institutions of higher education around the world. Eleven of these institutions are in North America. The emergence of spiritual formation offices on each campus is a rather new development. This project describes and critiques spiritual development programs at four Nazarene universities in North America. The study explores the interaction between a Wesleyan understanding of sanctification and spiritual formation. Information gathered through open-ended interviews was used to determine what programs were most effective. The project resulted in nine specific conclusions and suggestions for establishing an effective spiritual development office in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition.
