Abstract
  • The proposed topic of this study is that the biblical material has as one of its pervading themes God's special concern for the poor and hungry. This is a concern that understands true charity to be more than almsgiving. It is justice made manifest in social, political and economic structures. The work begins with an analysis of the principle causes of poverty and hunger in the world: political and economic, but also violations of the biblical vision of the Kingdom of God (justice, love, peace, abundance, shalom).
