- Abstract
- The Christian God as the Creator, Redeemer, and the Sanctifier of the world cannot be ignored when the whole of existence is at stake due to today's ecological crisis. Christianity's incarnational character, the bodily Resurrection of the One in whom, by whom, and for whom everything was created, makes God, humans, and the material world inseparable. As such, the Christian God is the first, true environmentalist. In this understanding, theology must respond to environmental concerns. The relationship between ecology and theology was explored within a small Christian community, the place where the Living God can be experienced and where ecological disasters occur. This analysis led to the development of a seven-session seminar designed to help ordinary Christians and Christian ministers in their effort to build a true communio between God, humans, and the rest of creation.
