Abstract
  • Premarital counseling is often a source of frustration for the pastor and a source of aggravation for the couple because the social aspects of the wedding overshadow the spiritual aspects of marriage. This project focuses on the development of a tool for premarital counseling that addresses this problem. This report examines the use of such a tool with several couples from the pastor's congregation. The tool is based upon the three Benedictine principles of stability, conversio morum, and obedience in order to use the premarital counseling as an opportunity for spiritual formation.
