Abstract
  • This project constructs, through 'participatory dialogue,' a contextual theology of the Eucharist as 'covenanted kinship.' Through a process of theological reflection, based on experience, culture, and the church's tradition, the Christian faithful in a specific geographical context in Africa--the Igbo people of Nigeria--tell their own story of the Eucharist. The project integrates their cultural and collective wisdom into conversation with the church's heritage of the Eucharist in order to explore its implications for liturgical inculturation and for action toward social justice.
