Abstract
  • The author researched the leadership practices of senior pastors of growing Southern Baptist churches in South Carolina. The overarching research question was 'What leadership practices of senior pastors of Southern Baptist Churches in South Carolina with 500 or more worship attenders have enabled those churches to grow rapidly for three consecutive years?' Grounded Theory was the method used in this research. A 360 degree interview approach with the senior pastor and three key leaders in each church provided the data for research. The research resulted in eight recommendations for senior pastors that could encourage growth for their congregation.
