Abstract
  • This project emphasizes the importance of Holy Communion as a means of renewal and empowerment. The model is composed of two independent components which complement each other: a six-week study of Holy Communion and a Maundy Thursday Communion service. The participant's workbooks and leader's guides are the heart of the project. The project was tested at the Urbana United Methodist Church, where 16 persons participated in the study and 74 in the Maundy Thursday service. The results show that after using the resource for study and worship the participants celebrated Holy Communion with a new appreciation and understanding.
