Abstract
  • Review of Catholic lay ministry formation programs in the United States with emphasis on the programs offering all four dimensions of formation. Were women prepared in spiritual, human, pastoral, and intellectual dimensions of formation when they earned their lay ministry certificate or degree? Specifically research was conducted on lay ministry formation programs in the area of the human dimension of formation. The thesis will prove that women lay ecclesial ministers did not receive the proper emotional intelligence, pastoral training, or theological education, to help them identify, prevent, or protect themselves from clergy emotional abuse.
