Abstract
  • This is a case study of the influence preaching the legacy of the African Methodist Episcopal Church has on church growth. Five AME churches participated. Each participant preached three sermons detailing the legacy of the AME Church. The author's goal was to compile and review data obtained by interviewing project participants, lay and clergy, as to the influence of such preaching on church growth. By tracing the historical and theological tenets of faith attributed to Richard Allen, it is the author's desire to revive and promote church growth as an intrinsic component of the AME Church.
