- Abstract
- It is commonly assumed that a satisfying marriage requires work and that each partner accepts the personal responsibility for that work. This study hypothesized that a biblically oriented marriage enrichment course concerning relationship self-regulation (RSR) would increase both personal responsibility for marriage and marital satisfaction in marriage and that RSR, as a measure of personal responsibility, would positively correlate with marital satisfaction (MS). Forty-three couples were assessed on their relationship self-regulation and marital satisfaction, pre and post course. Statistical analysis supported an increase in, and correlation between, RSR and MS, supporting a relationship between personal responsibility and marital satisfaction.
